The goal of this organization is to share information with other Indigenous people around the world. It is important that we as Indigenous people share our successes and failures in maintaining our sovereign rights. This database is to serve as a reference to the Indigenous struggle to maintain sovereignty.

Indigenous cultures around the world share very similar histories when it comes to colonial rule. As we have discovered through our research and converstions through our blog, our online conferences and yearly Sovereignty Roundtable, the approaches to maintaining sovereignty are varied. There is much to be learned from the successes and failures of our Indigenous brothers and sisters and their struggle for sovereign rights.

Indigenous Uprising is a database of digital materials dealing with issues of sovereignty. It is fully searchable and available for study by anyone who wishes to broaden their perspective on Sovereign Rights. Indigenous Uprising utilizes the Greenstone Digital Library software to make our database available in many different languages. We are also working on creating translation software in order for our scholars from varied cultures to communicate with each other. We continue to work with scholars around the world to produce primary source material for our database. We continue to evolve and adapt to our ever changing world and continue to utilize technology to bring our peoples together in a unified front to protect our sovereign rights.
