IV) Access to materials in collection open to all.

Everything we collect for our database must be screened to make sure there are no privacy issues. Anything submitted must be approved by the peer review committee and the cultural advisor if documents are tribal specific. All materials available in our database pass these rigorous tests and have been approved for general distribution.

We at Indigenous Uprising are dedicated to free and open access to all people. In the future, we will work with the Greenstone Digital Library Software in order to broaden the access of our archives to people who speak languages other than English and Spanish. We are also working on creating audio readings and braile versions (to be mailed) of our material for the blind and illiterate. We recognize the strong oral traditions of Indigenous peoples and are working with tribes to have our materials translated and recorded by tribal language speakers for access to Indigenous language speakers.
