We gathered hardwood saplings on the other side of the lake, tied them up with basswood strips and brought them back to Māwaw Cēseniyah.

We used our birch roof to measure the placement for the lodge poles.  We ended up placing the poles about two feet apart all the way around except for our entrance facing south.

Each pole needs to be measured and cut to a point in order for it to be thrust into the ground.
